This is an illustration, not a mortgage offer, tax calculation or financial advice. It assumes a fixed rate for the full term and monthly payments. Fees, rate changes, relief eligibility and lender criteria are not included. Property tax uses current standard residential bands and should be checked with the relevant tax authority. With an interest-only mortgage, the original capital must still be repaid at the end of the term.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Free UK mortgage repayment calculator

Use this calculator to estimate monthly UK mortgage payments and compare a capital and interest repayment mortgage with an interest-only mortgage. Enter the property price, deposit, mortgage term and annual interest rate to see the estimated amount borrowed, loan-to-value ratio and total interest.

What is a repayment mortgage?

Each monthly payment covers interest and repays part of the capital, so the mortgage should be cleared by the end of the agreed term if payments are maintained.

What is an interest-only mortgage?

Monthly payments usually cover only the interest. The original amount borrowed remains to be repaid at the end of the mortgage term.

What does mortgage LTV mean?

Loan-to-value, or LTV, is the mortgage amount shown as a percentage of the property price. A larger deposit normally produces a lower LTV.
